Not sure why, but it seems every few months I get tucked into a story about pioneers struggling westward. They always make me so thankful to live today and not back then. I'm pretty sure I would have been one of the first ones to drop at the side of the trail. Give me a well-built highway and a smooth-riding car with air conditioning any day.
I just love movies, tv series and books based on those pioneers. How brave they were to travel into the unknown with their families....and then to face such hardships when settling on the land. Yep, I am also grateful for air conditioned travel!
